Negatives were the long line on and off - off was worse because we were not expecting it as getting off the Gem at Barcelona was a breeze ) no line.
The food was outstanding and we ate most meals in Indigo main diningroom with reservations for party of 5 at 7:30 or so. Breakfast at the buffet worked well and was easier finding a table than we had on Gem last summer. Only specialty was at Le Bistro which was fine.
Kids did some activities with teens and liked the bowling, rock climbing, and improv with second city. The teen dinner was "lame," but we liked it since we got to have a grownups dinner by ourselves that night. The teen leaders didn't connect with our kids maybe because they had each other (triplets) and focussed on kids who didn't have anybody else?
We loved the spa and hung out there most sea days as it was quiet and relaxing. Even the kids didn't like the noise and crowds at the pool area.
I loved the poker at the casino each night but figured out I would have ended up a winner if it weren't for the excessive rake. Still the poker players bonded and hugged each other on the last night.
So two shows, and liked second city and the shark bait/comedian show. We did our own shore excursions which were more economical and more enjoyable then going with the masses. Eg. On Belize, able to do combined cave tubing and ruins tour with Reggie who treated us like visitors instead of customers. His van was older but his service and authenticity top notch! tell him Kathy sent you at email@example.com.
Our balcony cabin and inside for the kids were wonderful as was service. I didnot have problem with rude or indifferent restaurant service on either this or Gem Mediterranean cruise last summer. It always took a long time to get olive oil instead of butter for bread however!
I'm sold on NCL yes freestyle's not free but it doesn't have to cost a fortune either! trel c
