This was a vacation of a lifetime for us. This being only or second cruise we really didn't have anything to compare it as the first was was 25 years ago but RCI did a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier. From the time we boarded to the time we left Brilliance we felt very welcomed and at home.
We ate at Chops Grill the first night and the service and food were excellent. For breakfast and lunch we ate in the Windjammer Cafe. The food was fine and not much to write home about but that is to be expected when you are feeding over 2,000 plus people. The service in the WJC was always excellent. Everyone was very friendly and ready to help when needed. We ate most of our dinners in the main dinning room. The food was very good and if we didn't like something we were always given something else. Again very friendly service. I have gluten intolerance and was worried that I wouldn't have anything to eat. I meet the chef the first day and he walked me around the WJC showing me a variety of options. They have a section on the buffet of gluten free items.
The shows in the Pacific Theater were always good and entertaining. We traveled with our sons, the oldest 22 and our youngest 17. Our oldest found lots to do but our 17 year old was at an age where he was to young for the club and to old for the activities being offered at the teen club. One suggestion maybe more actives for 15-17 year olds on sailing days. Both of our boys had a good time and loved the ports.
Overall our cabin was very nice. We are a family of four that stayed in this cabin so it was a little crowded at times. The first four days of our cruise was very port heavy so we were hardly in our room and when we were it was to get ready for dinner or sleep. The room was clean and the balcony has an open view. Rhonda our state room attendant was wonderful in making sure all of our needs were meet.
We explored Nice on our own and enjoyed our selves.
We didn't take an excursion we just did the ship transfer which went well.
