Chose this ship for the ports and also for a bit of luxury. Also wanted a ship that did not cater for children. (Required a "granny free" holiday). Being a small ship there were no crowds on board anywhere and embarkation was a breeze.
Copenhagen was sunny and warm when we embarked. The weather became cloudier and cooler as we proceeded on the 7 night cruise. Light coats and scarfs required in the ports of Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn and Stockholm. Needless to say the pool area on board was not used much after Copenhagen.
The ship was lovely with several lounges and I was particularly impressed with the main restaurant where the food was 1st class. NEVER any waiting. Plenty of choices on the menu, all beautifully presented and wine choices if you did not want what the sommelier first offered. French restaurant booked out every night so did not dine there. La Terrazzo, Italian menu was good and this venue was used for buffet breakfast and buffet lunch. I personally preferred the main restaurant. Too cool for me to try the on deck "hot rock" grill although heaters and blankets supplied.
Lovely large cabin with walk in robe, safe, hairdryer was missing but quickly obtained.
Bathroom well laid out with twin basins, bath and shower. Toiletries top of the range.
Bed was VERY comfortable. Loved being near the water as we glided through the Baltic . No verandah in vista which due to the cool weather was not missed. You may need to get your port window cleaned occasionally. Aircon able to be self regulated and worked well.
Stayed in The Admiral Hotel by the harbour. Very nice hotel and tasting menu in the restaurant delicious.
Main train line easy to navigate to Helsingor (Hamlet's Castle) but metro confusing as could not find a map.
