Chose the Magic as we had never sailed on this ship. We have been on over 20 cruises, mostly with Carnival, so we are seasoned cruisers. Just the 2 of us, no kids. Sailed out of Canaveral as it is such an easy port to get to. Both embarkation and debarkation was quick and smooth with no problems. Loved our room, had the extended balcony, and our room steward was fun and very good. The rest of the cruise left an empty feeling. It seems that the more we cruise the more amenities that are taken away. Dining room service was adequate, linens on tables only on formal nights leaving wet, messy tables, as there were no place mats either. We had late seating which was 8:15, the last night we did not get served anything until 9:30. Entertainment was OK but not great and the theater balcony seats were not comfortable at all. High straight backs that made you want to leave as soon as you sat down. This is only a couple of examples, we were not happy with the ship and will not cruise on the Magic again. Completing the survey was a joke because customer service never contacted us about our concerns. Not looking for any freebees, just acknowledgement that they are listening. As Platinum guests you would think they would value your loyalty. Thinking of jumping ship to try a different line. We cruise usually twice a year, so it may be time to branch out.
The layout of the cabin was different than any we have stayed in. Probably a little larger than most balcony staterooms. Loved the room!
This port is convenient to our home, never a hassle, adequate parking and many options. It's always easy in and easy out.
