We booked this cruise last August while on the Norwegian Pearl. We just booked a basic inside cabin to allow us to reach platinum level for our next cruise, which promises to be something more exciting.

5 days before sailing, we looked online and noticed that MANY balconies were still available. We called NCL and for a reasonable price were able to upgrade to a Penthouse Suite with aft-facing balcony. The key words here are "aft-facing balcony." SO amazing! I didn't even know such things existed! I don't know if we will ever get to enjoy one again, but man it was worth every penny.

Our suite came with a butler and a concierge- another first for us! We asked many questions and they were very helpful with getting us anything we needed. Josephine our butler brought us afternoon snacks every day. With all the eating that you do on a cruise, you wouldn't think this is a big deal. But every day around 3, I found myself wondering what she was going to bring!

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SE

We were booked in an inside cabin but saw that 5 days before sailing, there were many balconies available. We were able to upgrade to a Penthouse Suite with aft-facing balcony for less than we would have originally paid for a balcony room.

Now the aft-facing balcony has us spoiled for life. The view is amazing, day or night, sailing in and out of ports. And for the first time we had a concierge and butler! We made good use of them and they helped us on multiple occasions.
