This was our first cruise. We chose Princess cruise lines because they included Glacier Bay National Park on all their itineraries. We chose a 12 day Cruisetour which included 7 days northbound cruise followed by 5 day land tour with 1 night Anchorage, 1 night Princess Mt. McKinley Lodge, 1 night Mt. Denali Princess Lodge and 2 nights Fairbanks.

Departure from Vancouver was uneventful. We had read about problems with departures from Vancouver, but we encountered no problems. We flew in a day early and stayed at the Pan Pacific. They took our luggage from the room to the ship and we were free to go have breakfast and return to our room before taking the elevator down to the cruise terminal.

We arrived at the terminal at 10am and were amoung the first onboard. Boarding began promptly at noon as was indicated in our embarkation documents. The ship sailed at 4:30pm. We went to the Sanctuary before sailing to make reservations and chose our lounge chairs for Glacier Bay day. Cost was 60$ per person for whole day. This turned out to be one of best experiences of our voyage.

Cabin Review

Premium Suite with Balcony

Cabin S5

Our cabin was large and spacious. We upgrade to a suite and do not regret this choice. We had a huge bathroom with both glass I closed shower and jacuzzi tub. We both used the tub! The bed was very comfortable. I'm was nice to have a sitting area and we enjoyed room service full breakfast twice as well as breakfast in Sabattinis. Our steward Ivan was very attentive, although we are low demand people. We used the laundry service twice and our clothes were returned by evening when sent out by 9am.
