We always wanted to cruise to Alaska so finally decided it was time. We chose Holland America because their ships are smaller, allowing us access to several areas that the larger ships can't get to. We were able to go into several beautiful fjords with incredible glaciers and get "up close and personal"!

Holland America caters to an older crowd, so the entertainment and night clubs are not wild and crazy. Food is incredible! The ships are clean and well maintained and staff is a cut above perfection! Always willing to do the extra for you. Our cabin was typical size but the verandah made it so lovely. I like that there are 2 chaise lounges on the verandah.

Shore excursions are varied and affordable so be sure to check them out.

Cabin Review

The cabins are small, no doubt about it but it IS a ship not a hotel! The interior was dated but well maintained. Clean and very comfortable. Adequate closet space for a 2 week cruise and everything worked in the suite. Bathroom was cozy, but comfortable to use. Shower was warm and had good water pressure.

Verandah was lovely and we enjoyed sitting out there with a glass of wine in the afternoons. Perfect for whale watching and glacier viewing.
