We chose MSC because the ports of call were more interesting to us than the other cruise ships. We had read not so good reviews about MSC and the experience was about the same as the reviews. The service cannot be compared with Norwegian, Royal or Celebrity. MSC is marketed primarily to Italians and rest of Europeans. The only had one restaurant assigned to us, the service was slow and the food not of very good quality. Our only other option was the buffet, which was a hit or miss with some of the dishes. Only water is offered unless you buy a drink package ( bottled water at the restaurant). Inside Cabin was spacious but bathroom was very small, had to shower with the shower curtain open just to have more elbow room. Entertainment was not varied, they used the same performers for all each of the "theme shows", which had pretty much the same choreography, just a little different stage settings. I'm going to avoid using MSC for any future cruises unless the itinerary is irresistible.
