Worst cruise ever! I have been cruising with RCI from 2002 and this will be last. I have just read reviews and only sorry I had not read them about Indy before I booked. Where do I start? Well I was single traveller accompanying two friends ( wife disabled). I recommended RC as my previous cruises ( Caribbean, transatlantic and med) had all been so enjoyable. I have spent my time apologising since I returned home. My last 3 cruises were on Liberty , great entertainment , captain and staff and food, so Indy seemed like good choice. How wrong was I? Apart from the embarking and ice show the rest was terrible. Entertainment ( what there was of it) terrible, what happened to the west end shows? Dream works , white deck parties etc etc. The food, cottage pie, shepherds pie , custard and sponge etc took me back to my school days, that is if you were lucky enough to get seated. I actually gave up lunch one day as when I went back for drink or desert waiters had taken my meal away (3 times on one occasion). I was taught my meal was finished when knife and fork together on plate, maybe the staff could be aware of that. I feel so sorry for them as they as overworked and underpaid working 7 days per week for up to 8 months at a time , no wonder they all look so unhappy although they still managed to be polite and smile. I cannot say the same for my stateroom attendant though, he was rude especially when we asked for an extra sachet of coffee OMG that set the tone until day 5. when I lost my temper he made bit of an effort then and was ok rest of cruise. (apparently it's only 2 sachets per stateroom per day) . I guess this is to encourage you to buy the coffee on sale in cafe. ( the "free" coffee in cafe was so bad I drank tea rest of trip). I also noticed the bowls in windjammer were replaced with smaller ones 2nd week I guess to cut down on costs. My stateroom ( superior balcony deck 9) was clean but holes in curtains and sheets , saggy uncomfortable bed , voiles on balcony doors needed washed. Where was entertainment director during the day ? Sliding door sensors not working whole trip on deck 4 fwd. I was shown by member of crew how to wave my hands about until door opened. It was still like that on last day. Also had lots of smoke blowing out from ceiling on promenade early one morning , 7 crew members on radios and apparently the smoke machine had set itself off?

We thought there was a fire but took their word for it and all was ok. Health and safety an issue , men sitting in pool drinking beer and smoking while watching big screen with children in pool? Children running up and down promenade in wet swimwear and towels,

People in towels at ice show and windjammer. I would love to hear reply from RC and wonder if their American guests would be prepared to accept these conditions as I have cruised from Miami and the service , food , entertainment has been amazing. They don't seem to care about their guests from UK it's only about the money. Shame on you Royal

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin G

Bed old mattress , saggy and hard, no topper and did not get one good nights sleep. I actually spent few nights on sofa. Curtains had holes in material needed replaced. Voiles

Either needed washed or preferably replaced. Don't know what £ 7 million was spent on?

Could not get extra coffee or tea ( supposed to be all inclusive ?)
