We are regular cruisers, we shared this cruise with friends. Japan is always difficult to access and using the cruise option gives comfortable access to the west coast which most tours avoid. we enjoy the process of cruising as much as the destinations.

We had been on the Sea Princess only three weeks before on a last minute cruise and we knew what to expect. The furniture in all but the two recently renovated areas is very tired. The cushioning in all other chairs is worn out, carpets are worn, the pool areas are in dire need of a full re-fit and the Vista lounge leaked every day. In our room, we had airconditioning faults, rotten curtains, a ceiling leak outside, the interior room opposite had major floods, the w.c. backed up probably 7 or 8 times requiring remediation. The in room wifi was slow and often did not work at all and it was cut off very early on the last morning.

The television system suffered many outs, the ship navigation channel was down for the eight cruising days home. Issues in the kitchen saw meals often delivered luke warm and the meal variety in the dining rooms was extremely limited for a seven week cruise. Read more
