We chose this ship because of the price and itinerary. We had not been to Key West and we loved a previous visit to Georgetown, Grand Cayman. We were not disappointed at all with the ports. Scuba diving and snorkeling in Georgetown were excellent choices. The bike tour in Key West was great, although I should have known that it would be sweltering hot in July.
I had concerns about this ship when I found this website and read the negative reviews. I wanted to cancel the trip. I'm so glad that we had the opportunity to go on this cruise! I prepared by booking excursions for the port stops and a spa treatment for the cruise days, as well as bringing books to read. The spa offered great daily specials but the time slots fill quickly so book early. The main activities are in the Boleros lounge, the Centrum, and the Royal Theater. Pay attention to the Cruise Compass and make a plan to maximize your cruise experience. We loved the Beatlemania show! Also, the brunch on cruise days in the main dining room was fabulous. I think this was the best selection and preparation of food of all the cruises I have taken to date. Also, they did serve complimentary Mimosas and Bloody Mary's at the brunch, and complimentary wine with the last night of dinner. We enjoyed dinner in the main dining room every evening. The service was excellent as well as the food.
Take an Ernest Hemingway book to read. We found a "secret" spot on the back of the ship on Deck 6 behind the Boleros lounge. I felt like we had a private yacht!
Remember that it is hot in July!!
