Not sure why I chose Norwegian. I had only sailed on Carnival and really wanted to try another one. The views from our cabin AFT 9278 were spectacular. Whales, iceburgs, otters, eagles. You could not ask for better.
BUT - the food was nothing special. Yes, there is a lot of it. There was nothing that I could rave about. They had several specialty restaurants, that we didn't try. After paying over $5000 for our cabin we didn't feel as if we had to pay extra for food. Even in the main dining room they offered 3 dinners that cost. One was lobster. I know on Carnival, they have one night with lobster and it comes with your dinner plan.
The Garden café (buffet) was always crowded during meal times. Sometimes hard to find a place to sit. We ate in the main dining room several times to avoid the crowd.
The cabin was very nice. Not as fancy as others I've been on but good.
I would definitely recommend the aft-facing mini-suite. If I were to do this again, I would probably book the aft-facing suite. A lot larger.
