We planned a family trip for 10 people and 4 more family members joined us. We selected the Alaska destination because most of us had never been to Alaska and the trip was planned for June. We were a diverse group ranging in age from 15-82 including three generations and wanted to have a variety of recreational options as well as a supportive environment for our senior members. We were given significant help by AAA staff who also booked the connecting flights from Madison Wisconsin and Flagstaff AZ. Our trip was on the Coral Princess.
It was our first large-ship cruise and we were apprehensive about being smothered in huge throngs of people all trying to be first in line. It turned out that we didn't need to have worried about that... I was amazed at the efficiency in moving people on and off the boat
We had five double rooms (2 starboard and 3 port all on the 11th deck with balconies.) (We did learn that all balconies are not created equal.... indentations on the side of the ship robbed one of us of about 1/3 of our view out to sea) The rooms seemed quite spacious and could be fitted with king or double/double beds.
We did have an obstructed view because the ship side was indented starting with our cabin and we saw our neighbors balcony when we looked toward the front of the ship.
The size of the cabin was generous as was the bathroom and the storage space was more than adequate
