This was a very active cruise, with many opportunities to walk. The cabin had good room darkening curtains that kept the midnight sun out. Our guides were excellent, the entire staff was so friendly, the ship was very nice. We sure enjoyed our meals!. Service was prompt and friendly. Breakfast had the best oatmeal I've ever eaten, fresh fruits, meats & cheeses, breads, made-to-order omelettes and good coffee.Lunch was a buffet and/or order from a menu. Dinner was from a menu and there were always plenty of healthy choices. I enjoyed the house chardonnay and my sister seemed to enjoy the house red. We didn't find it necessary to purchase the upgrade package.

We learned so much history on the excursions and saw many palaces, cathedrals and art. The scenery along the rivers was pretty and it was pleasant to sit out on the balcony while watching Russians swimming and camping along the river banks.

Often, after touring a palace or museum as a group, we had some free time.
