This was our third cruise, but our first with Carnival.

Good value on a lovely ship. Fantastic entertainment with the cruise director 'Jen' with the energy of the Energiser Bunny! Food was delicious and plentiful. We chose 'anytime dining' in Truffles which worked well for us. Had room service one morning which was also prompt although the fresh fruit served was a little battered. Cabin was clean and tidy (and much nicer than the P&O Pacific Pearl we had been on previously), though not as nice as the NCL Pride of America which was much more modern. We appreciated the covered pool area on the cooler days, and the 'clamshells' on the back of the ship for peace and quiet when cruising. Although one of our excursions was cancelled (without explanation) we did enjoy a fantastic smaller vessel trip to the front of a glacier where we heard and witnessed an amazing calfing from the glacier - the highlight of our trip! Good evening entertainment from the dance crews and 'Two-tone' in various bars.

Negatives, and these were big for us..... Smoking in the Casino left me with Bronchitis and Laryngitis after only a half hour visit (this went on to ruin our following week long visit in Hawaii as we travelled home to New Zealand). Distinct lack of hand cleansing stations (as also experienced on the P&O Pacific Pearl) in comparison to NCL. We were never 'encouraged' to cleanse our hands at any point in our week long cruise. We never saw another passenger use handcieanser prior to food service and we feel this is an extremely risky issue when travelling with such a large number of people in a confined space.

Excellent, though we did have to have our balcony door repaired on day one as the wind howled through it. Investment to upgrade TVs to flatscreen with USB ports to view our digital photography would be nice.
