We've been on Disney and RCI multiple times recently, so we wanted to experience something new, different. We decided to hop on the NCL Getaway leaving Miami.

Arriving to the port at 11:30am was smooth - signs telling you where to go and people guiding you to drop off and parking garage. My husband dropped us off and we were told to leave our luggages on the curbside. That's usually OK, but the curbside also had people disembarking and going home. The bag attendant was moving around, so I felt my bags just sat there unsecured. We actually crossed the street and kept an eye on it until it went to a luggage cart. Honestly, anyone could've just taken a bag or two on their way out. Maybe have a separate arrival and departure area so it's less chaotic.

Once we went into the building, we were greeted by workers that gave us the health form. Problem is...no pens! (That's my fault too...of course I need to bring a pen with me!) As previous NCL cruiser (over 10 years ago), we were sent to the latitude line. Problem: Only 2 attendants were serving a short line while the new cruises had like 10 lines open. They actually were a lot faster! It took us over 30 mins to get to the front with maybe 5 families ahead of us. They should've opened more lines. Tip: If a credit card is being registered, be sure they apply it to everyone in the cabin. We used my DH's CC, but mine didn't register...I was locked out on day 2. Had to wait in a very long Guest Service line twice (first to find out what's wrong, second time to get my DH to approve it in person). Read more
