Hello All,

Just got back from our 7 night Northern European cruise on the Emerald Princess. Overall we had a great time but there were some areas I wish to touch on in this review. My wife and I are in our mid-30s and I work in the hotel industry so know a bit about what food and service levels should be.

Embarkation - very quick, waited about 20 minutes and our room was ready when we boarded at about 12PM.

Cabin BE

Very good location as it was quick to get to the gym and buffet. Quiet room except for first day as it is next to luggage storage. Never heard elevator even though it is a few steps away. Liked having the balcony and used it more than we thought we would.

Port Reviews

Brugge (Bruges)

Loved this place. We went up the towers and all 366 stairs, did the boat tour and had the best waffle of my life at Chez Albert. Not to mention visiting all of the chocolate shops. We also made it to the brewery tour at De Halve Maan and the Triple was one of the best beers I have ever had.

Southampton

Easy to get to from London. We didn't spend much time here so can't really comment on the city. I highly recommend people take the train from Waterloo as it is easy and quick if you can manage your luggage.

Copenhagen

Easy city to see on your own with no tour necessary. We most enjoyed the Nyhavn area and boat tour. Tivoli Gardens was not really worth it for us but glad we saw it. We had an amazing meal outside on the patio of Nyhavn.

Oslo

We loved Oslo! It helped we had perfect 75 degree weather as well. The area where the ship docks at looks like a city of the future. Amazing architecture with food vendors all around. We made it to the viking museum and the arctic ship museum which were both well worth it. The sculpture garden was our favorite area though. Food prices were the highest I have ever seen and I have traveled all over. It made eating sushi in London seem like the deal of the century.
