This was my 31st cruise. It was my 6th on Carnival and unfortunately not our best cruise. I still love the Carnival product and have two more Carnival cruises booked. This cruise missed the mark for us in a few areas but was an excellent learning experience for us to better know what we want when on a Carnival cruise.
We arrived at the port at about 1230. We'd chosen between 11 and 1130 but were delayed and arrived later but we had a suite booked and had priority. We entered through the side door and were able to skip the very long regular line to enter the building. Having a suite or FTTF would be a benefit here. We were processed through check in pretty quickly but the holding area was jam packed full and th priority part of the boarding is a bit lost but we were still onboard in less than 25 minutes from arrival to embarkation.
Rather than go day by day I’ll hit the different areas of the cruise.
The cabin. We were in a suite on deck 7 forward. I liked our location. The room was spacious enough. We had a king bed and a sofa sleeper. That was fine for me and my two boys, 7 & 10. There were some signs of wear but that happens. The AC worked great. It was a steady 70 – 72 all five days. Our remote never worked exactly right. It took many attempts to change the channel on the TV even after it was replaced. Our room steward did everything we expected and was pleasant. They now ask you to choose what time of day you want service. I don’t mind service only once a day. I liked not feeling obligated to leave the room in the morning if I didn’t want to.
