I chose this cruise due to the fabulous Amalfi Coast itinerary although I'm a great Azamara fan and this was my 8th cruise.
From boarding in Rome to disembarking in Athens, Azamara did not disappoint. My trip was made by the wonderful people I met and the crew who recognised me and welcomed me back.
I was lucky enough to have dinner with Eric on the first evening and met some great friends who I socialised with throughout my cruise, including dinner in Aqualina. The food was first class, in particular the Limoncello Soufflé so my compliments to the chef.
Cabin had room for a third bed next to port hole if required. I'm not sure if this has been considered or is possible but there was empty space next to the window which I'm sure would be useful to some passengers.
Good overview of the island
Stunning island that I could visit time after time. The village of Oia at the tip of the island is well worth a visit for breathtaking views over lunch or drinks. Azamara often stays tendered in Thira late and it's worth it for the sunset
My favourite destination of the trip. It's exactly as you see it in the brochures and so beautiful. It's easy to take a local boat and then a local shuttle bus the top of Positano although I braved the numerous steps and the view was worth it.
I toured Rome before boarding the ship but it's easy to get the train to or from the port into Rome which takes just over an hour. You would have to allow plenty of time to see everything so it may be better to take a ships tour if you haven't visited before.
