QM2 2016 Cruise Critic Review
My favorite sailings are Transatlantic and I love Cunard for her 175 year history and for the elegance and tradition she maintains. I loved the QE2 (three times) and love the QM2 as well (second sailing). We sailed cheap, in a sheltered balcony; for crossing the Atlantic it was perfectly fine, especially considering we had fog and grey skies often.
The ship is beautiful and very ocean-liner-like; she's not at all like the modern mega-cruise liners with their glitz and neon and rock-climbing walls and bumper cars. Instead she offered many fascinating lectures (three on ocean liners, three on the Concorde, three on British humour, one on the films of Frank Sinatra and another on Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers), daily afternoon tea with white-gloved waiters and delicious sandwiches and cakes, three classical guitar concerts, planetarium shows and song and dance revues at night.
Perfectly fine, with lots of storage room but a flimsy shower curtain instead of a glass door. Everything worked and service was good.
