Just fabulous!!!!!! My husband and I have been on 5 different cruise lines and for some reason, I was hesitant to try NCL. I booked the cruise on The Getaway and the minute we got on board I knew it would be amazing. Embarkation took a long time, but that is understandable for so many people. I would say that they need to work on the air conditioning in the holding area however. We got right into our room and then to lunch. Very nice. There are so many options, and we loved it. Our first dinner was in the main dinning room and it was just OK, but for some reason, our first night on any ship seems to be that way. Maybe it is us.

The casino is the only thing we did not like about the ship. It is split into two sections - smoking and non-smoking which we initially thought would be great. My husband hated the fact that the casino was used a a cut through for the rest of the floor - constant traffic. It did not have that fun casino feel where people are cheering and so on. The smoke smell was beyond bad - even on the non-smoking side. I can't stand smoke so every night after the casino I had to shower and put my clothes on the balcony. They need to work on the ventilation.

We had the Ultimate drink package and the Dinner Package. The specialty restaurants are perfection. We really loved the French one. The service gets a 10!!!! I am a theatre director so I can be really picky about the shows but Burn The Floor was unbelievable. Million Dollar Quartet was fabulous as well. Illusionarium was good, but a bit corny for my tastes. The performers were great however. The tours are first rate, but I would recommend booking them through a company on line - it is so much cheaper. I only did it for one tour and regretted not doing it for all of them. Getting back on the ship is a treat as they meet you with a cold towel and water. Really nice touch. Read more
