Everybody kept saying that Thomson's had a new cruise ship and that we should try it! I won't ever listen to them again ! What a disappointment! When you spend £5000 you expect a good holiday, at least 4 star. Our cabin was great, stewards were 1st class, but the rest of the ship was like Butlins holiday camp on water ! No dress code, even though when we booked they said there were nights when you were expected to dress smartly, lounge suits and cocktail dresses etc. I packed accordingly only to be forced to dress down as most on the ship didn't bother! Some people stayed in same t shirt and shorts all day, don't think they showered either due to some of the aromas ! Pool deck constantly untidy with food and plastic drink cups etc.music blared out every where on ship, only quiet place was in our cabin. Children playing football in corridors, and running riot,no parents to be seen ! Couldnt get booked into better restaurants as booked 7 days in advance so had to eat in buffet most of the time. Pork, pork or more pork, had turkey one day yee hah ! Entertainment very amateurish apart from comedians flown in from UK,they were fantastic. Unable to book some excursions as they were fully booked. Boarded Saturday and went on Sunday to book, full ! Never got to see Rome, and that's the only one I wanted to do. Even with drinks package you were charged for water and soft drinks, but could drink yourself to death on spirits free ! Everywhere you went you had to queue, on board and on land. Shuttle buses are not reliable and sometimes we stood for over an hour in the boiling heat waiting for a pick up,they were never on time. A few people collapsed the day we had our emergency drill. Standing on deck, packed into a small space like sardines in 30 degrees with life jackets on was no fun. It took 30 mins, but it felt like hours.the medics were called a few times. Needless to say I will not be cruising anytime soon with Thomson Discovery and feel so sorry for people who have booked and are hoping for a great cruise.

Cabin Review

Cabin Junior suite

Our cabin was lovely. We had a balcony and there was lots of space inside and out. Our stewards leonora and Benji were fantastic. Cabin was cleaned twice every day.
