This was our first cruise. We were encouraged by Cruise experts to pay the extra amount and get a better experience on Celebrity Cruises. I have to say the ship (Reflection) was immaculate. Modern, well designed, comfortable and were pleasantly surprised with the size of the suite and storage space. It is extremely well organised and efficient from check-in to check-out and all the way through.

We were most disappointed in the food served on board. It was quantity and variety but no quality in the Oceanview Cafe, Opus dining room and poolside grill. So we thought the dedicated restaurants would be better but were again very disappointed. We ate mostly at Luminae because of the excellent service and friendly staff but not for the food. We also ate at the speciality restaurants. The Tuscan Grill had a beautiful view but the food disappointing. Murano was the best of the lot with expensive ingredients and good presentation but in terms of the preparation and flavour did not meet the hype.

We had delicious Greek & Turkish food on shore during port calls so why can that not be achieved on board? Why does everything have to sourced from the port of origin (or maybe even earlier!) and then frozen? We were sick of eating the same old watermelon and cantaloupe for 11 days when on shore you could get delicious peaches, nectarines and cherries. So we bought some which was promptly confiscated on boarding.
