Our first trip on a cruise. Why have we not done this before. Embarking was a stress less experience and the meet and greet was a nice touch. Our state room with enclosed balcony was a good size and the bed was so comfortable. Having the enclosed balcony was a good choice seeing as we were doing a transatlantic voyage and also a good size for the two of us. There was good information around the ship about where you were and what was going on. We opted to do the silver service for our evening meals and visited the other restaurants for breakfast and lunch. The food was outstanding no matter where you ate and on a couple of occasions we did this in the bar. It's good to note that the standard throughout was first class. The staff gave the added value to the trip with their relentless enthusiasm and service no matter where they worked from you personal steward to the bar to the restaurant.... The front of house staff supported your every need without attitude and gave good unbiased advice.
The entertainments varied and was enjoyable no matter your age. There were plenty of demonstrations going on giving you a good insight from food carving to beauty advice. The is no exchange of money as everything you do is based on your cabin card (think of it as a credit or debit card). You can check your bill at reception if you like keeping tabs but their honesty on all transactions is spot on. You can choose to give a percentage tip at the end which goes to all the staff or you can opt out and do you own tipping. It works out about the same in the end. Disembarking was a little chaotic but I think this was due to something unforeseen and communication could have been better. Still it did not spoil the trip. Spoilt by the whole experience I would definitely do further cruising. Well done Cunard
Oh and no kids running around was a bonus
Great room and good choice for transatlantic crossing. Decent size too
