I would actually give this 3 1/2 stars if possible. We booked this cruise 3 weeks before sailing as a last minute vacation, it was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. I had been warned by my travel agent friend that this was a moderate quality cruise line on a slightly older ship, but we liked the itinerary. We chose this cruise since we were travelling with 2 teenage girls and were able to book adjacent 2 balcony cabins which were very nice. The ship was fine, the decor had been recently updated, and the staff was wonderful. We dined in the anytime dining and had no problems getting a window table for our family of 4 with the same waiter each night, the food was really great. We did not buy a drink package, however many people did and were clearly trying to maximize their purchases. At the end of the cruise we figured having 2-3 drinks each day for 2 people and wine with dinner we saved not buying the drink package.

The problem I had with this cruise and itinerary was mainly that the pool area was a disaster. People would save chairs early in the morning and the 25 minute empty chair policy was not enforced. There were not enough chairs for all the passengers on an itinerary with 2 sea days, and to make matters worse we were unable to go ashore at Mykonos due to wind and high seas, which made for another sea day. Add that to the drinking at the pool, heat, humidity, and exceptionally crowded pool area, even the kids didn't want to stay at the pool. The teen activities for my 13 year old were great, she had the best time of all of us. My 18 year old was a little lost, she really didn't connect with anyone and there were no organized activities for people her age. I will likely try a newer ship or a different line for our next cruise. We did our own shore excursions in Santorini, Athens, and Katakolon.
