This was my first time on Royal, and the Allure is very big, we couldn't get over how wide it is.

Me and the SE (both in our 50's) flew to Fort Lauderdale a day early and stayed at the Residence Inn, free airport shuttle and $8 to port, also free transport to several restaurants.

Took Noon shuttle with about 30 others, got to port around 12:20 and were on board by 12:45, very easy, best embark I have done. We had pre-purchased the prem drink package and the 5 specialty dinning, so we stopped and got a drink at Bolero's. Went to our cabin(deck 6 forward, great location) at 1 then immediately to park cafe for roast beef sandwich (pretty good). I thought it would be smart to wear my swim wear onto the ship so we could go to pool, which we did - Solarium is awesome, better chairs(mesh vs plastic) and plenty of servers bring us drinks. So after cooling in the pool and sunning for the afternoon, went to room and still no luggage (tip: pack dinner clothes in carry on—which I did not) so there I was in my swimsuit with nothing to change into and 5:30 dinner resv. Luckily about 5:15 we looked by the crew elevator and spotted our luggage so we helped ourselves. Got dressed and headed to deck 3 Icon dinning room.
