Our travel consultant suggested Emerald Waterways (Evergreen Tours is the Australian agent) as a low cost but good quality river cruise company - she was correct on both counts. This was our first river cruise (although we have done a number of ocean cruises) and we wish to congratulate Evergreen and Emerald for a fantastic experience which far exceeded our expectations.

Embarkation was smooth and we were able to board not long after midday and had lunch and all afternoon to unpack and settle in. The next morning, we were taken on an Amsterdam canal cruise in small glass roofed boats which was very good.

We were impressed by the layout and quality of the ship (only two years old). The public spaces were excellent but we were unable to use the sun deck when passing under low bridges which meant that we did not use it for a number of days as it is quite a job to lower and raise the safety rails and deck furniture.
