We took our ten-year-old grandson on this cruise. Based on some negative reviews, I really didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised.
In Galveston, we parked in the covered garage directly across from the dock. Most convenient. Because of the staggered boarding times, embarkation was simple. Once on board, we were impressed with the ship. it is is beautiful, modern and clean. Our balcony cabin was on deck 8, mid-ship, a good location. Storage was adequate for the three of us ( although I had brought extra hangers from home). The bathroom was fine. Our pleasant room steward worked hard to make sure all was well with us and he kept things nice and clean. Definitely a hard-worker.
We enjoyed early dining in the Blush dining room every evening, and nearly every day, we ate breakfast in the dining room as opposed to the buffet. The buffet was okay....nothing to write home about. However, the variety and quality of the food offerings in the dining rooms were very good. Our service was terrific. Waiters and their assistants were on their game....attentive, remembering our beverages preferences, etc. Our only complaint about the dining room was the lack of table linens most nights.
