This was a family cruise to Alaska June 21-28. We had 18 family members, 3 generations, ages 7 to 75. Everyone enjoyed the cruise, probably more than our earlier Western Caribbean cruise from Galveston. We experienced no problems, and the staff was top-notch. We had 5 balcony cabins on 7 Forward, and the cabins were quiet and comfortable.

The only restraint from a 5-star experience was sub-par entertainment shows and limited port stays at Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria. On the upside, the longer Skagway stay was great; we rented 3 vans and drove to the Yukon and had a great time, including bear sightings by the roadside. Only one or two of us did Carnival shore excursions, and they were good.

The cruise director was a dynamo--exhausting just to watch her! Kudos!
