The purpose of the cruise was to celebrate several family marriage milestones - a 50th wedding anniversary and 15th wedding anniversary, to be specific. From the moment we booked and attempted to make dining reservations it was a disaster.
Phone wait times between 1 - 1.5 hours until a Norwegian representative answered the phone to make pre-boarding specialty restaurant reservations. Then the rep erroneously charging my credit card in advance for a booked excursion - on the ship I learned that I should not have been charged in advance. The worst part is that when we decided to change excursions, Norwegian refunded my $$ to someone else's credit card. They told me they could not "fix" the problem until the other person agreed to return the money they'd mistakenly returned to the other card...
Arrival at the ship/Embarking - they couldn't find my kids' reservations, even though i had the confirmation and printed receipts. Considering we were supposed to have 2 adjoining rooms, bit of a nightmare! It took upwards of 45 minutes to sort it out and check in.
Beautiful island. But not enough shade. We didn't realize this until it was too late and all of the shading clamshells were sold out. We recommend renting some kind of shading accessory and then just go an have fun!
