My son was getting married in Santorini, Greece and he and his bride wanted a European cruise with all their friends and family. This ship was THE BEST in EVERY WAY!! I had never enjoyed cruising, but looking back, it must have been the destinations. Air Berlin lost the luggage of 19 passengers and me and two of my sons were among them. We never got them back. Luckily, we were on The Vision of the Seas! Diana, one of the Guest Services Officer, went WAY beyond her job duties! She took me to their storage room to see if there were any dresses I could borrow and sent a tailor to my sons' room to be fitted for tuxedos at NO charge. She even offered to do my hair and makeup day of the wedding as all of my jewelry, makeup and hair products were in my lost luggage. We were given toiletries, T-shirts, free laundry service and a letter from the Guest Services Director to the airline insisting they reimburse us for all the clothing we had to buy while on our cruise. They also spent a good amount of time researching our lost luggage and gave us daily updates.

In addition to this extraordinary service, I cannot say enough about the delicious food in all of the dining rooms, especially Giovanni's!!! Best Italian food ever! The only caveat was the DJ they had in the club on deck 11 was really bad. He would put on a series of songs that played in a loop and he would leave. After 3 days of complaining, he was finally replaced. Good move!

Highly recommend Vision of the Seas for the exemplary service and the ports were magnificent! Dubrovnik, Croatia; Kusadesi, Turkey, Santorini and Katakalon Greece were all just breathtaking and the cruise began in Venice, Italy. A trip to remember for sure! Well Done Royal Caribbean!!!

Port Reviews

Venice

We were in Venice for just one day but we walked the entire city! There are no cars and the streets are incredibly clean. The locals are extremely nice but be aware that many/most places close for 2 hours mid day and close early for the day as well! The architecture and scenery are just indescribably beautiful!

Santorini

Santorini is the MOST gorgeous place I've ever been! So high up on the cliffs, all the snow white buildings with blue roof tops is just breathtaking. The views of the Mediterranean look photoshopped! I didn't realize the ocean can be that blue! Our son's wedding was set at The Architect's Villa which overlooked the sea. Just exquisite! We spent the whole day there. Note to future travelers!! On your way back to port, make sure to take the donkey's down the mountain! It is very steep and difficult to walk down but the cable car lines are too long to wait for, so the donkeys are the way to go!

Katakolon (Olympia)

Spent the day at the beach which was enjoyable. The water was warm, the food was excellent and the service was impeccable.
