Overall we had a great time on this Mediterranean cruise. The ship had just been in drydock, so everything was very clean and fresh. It isn't as fancy or as large as some of the newer RC ships, but it was fine, especially since we made six great stops on a 9-day cruise, with just 2 days at sea. For this reason, we just booked an inside cabin, which was small but fine for the 3 of us. The room was kept very clean and our room steward was very friendly.
The itinerary was great, with stops in Sicily, Santorini, Mykonos, Naples, Athens and Kusadi, Turkey. We took the ships excursions, which were generally good, though the leisurely tours are really only for people who have trouble walking. My wife went on one of these and really wished she had gone on a moderate or even strenuous tour instead. Also, in Santorini, the excursion staff warned people against walking up or down the cliffside trail, which really wasn't at all difficult to do, assuming you are in reasonably good shape. It was a lot easier and faster than waiting for the cable car, which had an hour long wait at some times during the day.
The dining room food was excellent, and the service was the best we have ever had. We let the staff know that our daughter had a nut allergy, and the head waiter came by our table every day, bringing her a special desert and taking her order for the next day so they could prepare the dishes nut free. We were very impressed by this. The Windjammer food was a little mixed; it was mostly good but there wasn't much variety, especially compared to some of the larger ships. Also, sometimes the staff fell behind and a lot of tables would have dirty dishes on them.
You should definitely arrive at least a day early and spend some time exploring Rome.
