Greatly enjoyed this cruise, which was admittedly aided by great weather (generally sunny with temperatures in the mid-60's to 70's). The cabin and cabin service were both excellent, and the views of the Alaska coastline from the balcony were fantastic. Ship itself was very nice, and we noticed that this was the quietest ship (with the oldest demographic) that we have ever sailed. Most likely a function of the time of year and itinerary.
Spent pre-cruise days in Alaska. Highly recommend Hotel Aleyska (beautiful) and touring Seward and taking the Kenai Fjord National Park Tour. Rented a large SUV to accommodate the four of us from Chevrolet of South Anchorage - highly recommend given the low price ($60/day) and vehicle condition (brand new Traverse). Have to keep in mind that this is a typical rental car company, so don't expect as quick a turnaround when renting or returning vehicle.
This was my second time on Princess and greatly enjoyed the ship, although I do prefer Carnival and Celebrity for better food and overall entertainment choices. However, the entertainers on the cruise (2 male and 2 female "lead" singers, as well as a good dancing company) put on some excellent shows. Only complaint was that our Anytime Dining option was extremely poorly organized. Most days we stood in line to be given a card to go the the "late seating" in the other dining room. But our opinion is that if anyone lets the small things on a cruise bother them they are working too hard at it.
Excellent. Very quiet and nicely located in relation to Horizon Court (buffet), Princess Theater, and the pool/hot tub areas. Lots of storage space and nice layout. Enjoyed the balcony and amazing views of Alaska. Booked port side since this was a one-way cruise from Alaska to Vancouver, but starboard would have be satisfactory as well.
