Off the ship no issues but early 07:30 start then a 90/120 minute coach trip to Rome Tout around the city then stops at the tourist spots to look round

Up on the cable car long wait for the car but well worth it once at the top

First time cruisers and we loved it we will be back and soon I hope 

We chose The independence of the seas as It is supposed one of the best around coming out of Southampton 

Embarkation was a breeze on the ship in 40 minutes 

Disembarkation was even easier off the boat and in the car park in 10 minutes 

We had an interior cabin on level 8 the cabin was small but enough storage and very clean our stateroom steward was Stephen and he was first class the room was cleaned twice a day and Stephen was friendly and talkative nothing too much for him 

The bed so comfortable the best sleep I had on a holiday 

Dining in the Main Dinning Room was like a 4 star restaurant every night 

We only eat in the Windjammer once at night due to getting back from Rome late the Windjammer was fine for breakfast and lunch this was buffet style but not for evening meal 

Food was fine but not special like the MDR our Waiter and assistant waiter Amit and Muhammed they were special the service was first class and they made us feel so special with songs and magic tricks Formal nights were good when everyone dresses up 

Entertainment was first class went to every show Darren day was good but the best one was the lady from the Holland got talent she could sing and play the piano the crew show were also first class 

Excursions were expensive the only one we did was a Taste of Rome which was very good 

The rest of the time we did our own thing when getting off the ship which was easy enough 

Had a rocky time on the way back to Southampton when we came out of Lisbon so you do fill the ship move but not to bad 

Really enjoyed our time will be booking again soon when we can decide when to go 

So a big thank you to all the crew on the Independence of the seas
