Sail Date: May 2016

We wanted to go to Alaska for our 20th anniversary. We've done several cruises but none there. I've read several comments through Facebook, Cruise Critic Forums and CC Reviews related to our very sailing. We were on the only May 2016, Seattle-Seattle, Glacier Bay trip. This cruise was easily our BEST EVER. Some folks have commented about port times and such. There was only one delayed or late port and it was tendering in Juneau. The truth is we were delayed by the Coast Guard and had to reposition before we dropped anchor. It should have been 1pm, however, I was in the Follies Lounge at 2pm and heard them dropping anchor. Our excursion left us because of the delay but Carnival got us on a better excursion quickly and we made the most of it (stay positive). It worked. We had an incredible time and it carried for the rest of the cruise.

I have to give an extreme nod to our fantastic Cruise Director, Jen Baxter. Every time I saw her, everywhere, she made me smile. What a great, lively personality. Also, her staff, especially Char, were really fun. Poor Char lost her voice for part of the trip but still got the job done.

Our day in Skagway was easily our favorite. We did a morning excursion (Grizzly Falls Zipline) and had a blast. We then wandered the town lunching and shopping. We had the best Latte of our life at Bites On Broadway (we would leave the ship only to get another if we could) and a great meal at Skagway Brewing Company.

Short visit but we enjoyed a walk to the Fisherman's Wharf where we visited Barb's Fish and Chips. Yum.
