Chosen because of destinations and price. Mainly because of the 3-day St Petersburg stop. Generally a great experience.
We had flexible dining in the Moonlight Sonata restaurant mostly, which worked very well. You could have a table for two if you wanted, or tell then you were happy to share - which meant that you met lots of different people.
The theatre entertainment was generally OK - ranging from good to average. But the best thing for us was the Celebrity LIfe activities and staff - Daniel and Brandon in particular. They were great fun and we particularly enjoyed the quizzes (and won quite a few) and the game show sessions.
No complaints at all. Housekeeping staff (Lucy and Ricky) were excellent - very polite and friendly, very efficient, very hygienic. Location was pretty good - quite far forward and high up. Only very minor comment would be that the TV control is a little basic - e.g. no picture size control (necessary on some channels). Otherwise fine.
Self-propelled. Lovely city with a Bavarian feel to it. Easy walk from the ship.
Self-propelled with no problem and probably saw more as a result.
We did take an excursion, but I can't be bothered to tick all of the boxes of where we went. We used TJ Travel, who were very good. Only 6 in our group for a 2-day tour, covering all the main attractions, with an excellent guide called Maya, who really knew her stuff and was very pleasant too. The driver was also very good, taking great care to avoid potholes and not drive in a manner that would worry anyone. The only slight disappointment was the boat tour of the city, when it was difficult to see much (it was raining) and we were also delayed by another group (not Maya's fault), but everything else was fascinating.
Self-propelled again - on foot all the way. Bit of a walk into the city, but the scenery on the way is interesting and the sights there were good. Great buildings, shops, parks, Rosenburg Palace, crown jewels etc.
