My husband and I normally like to spend our holidays in a warm climate so this choice of Alaska was a huge gamble - we loved the whole experience!
We were met at Vancouver Airport and transported by light aircraft to Nome, way up in the north of Alaska. Before being taken to the ship by school bus, we were treated to a marvellous dog sled demonstration and some gold fossicking.
Our cabin on deck 6 was luxurious and we relaxed immediately, unpacked and prepared ourselves for a big adventure.
