My family and a group of people embarked on a 4 day cruise out of new orleans on April 9th. It was my first cruise ever we were able to get on the boat at 10:00 am do to we had a special group so we didnt have to go through the long lines to get on we went straight on and had no problems. Once we were on the boat we were able to see our rooms and our travel agency messed up big time and didnt give us ocean view as promised and we had 5 people and gave us a room with 2 twin beds and a room w/ a queen sized so we had to order a pull away cot but we managed this wasn't carnivals fault though. The luggage didnt get to our room until 5:30 and we gave our luggage at 9:30 in the am it should have been to our room long before 5:30 unfortunately we were unable to make it to our 6:00 dinner the first night so we ate in the dining room which I cant complain the food was pretty good. My two teenagers loved club 02 and met lots of friends while my 12 yr old didnt so much like the club they had for her b/c most the stuff wasn't on schedule on what they had for her age range. I enjoyed most of the trivia games and the cruise was so big it was hard to see and visit everything in just 4 days. Next time I want to go on a longer cruise so I will be able to fully enjoy it, it was too short. On the lido deck they never stopped coming around w/ drinks and our fountain fun card came in handy I highly recommend to get a fountain fun card. Plus I got the special of the day card they I used in the second day. The mexican buffet was my favorite the quesadillas were so good! The pool was always so crowded so My kids didnt quite get to enjoy it but they loved the water works section. In the dining room the food was good, The roasted chicken on the last night was my favorite the steak was too tough. The meat stick was disgusting not what I had envisioned at all I do not recommend getting that. When we got to cozumel they were people waiting outside for our tour we did the 3 reef snorkel and I recommend it, it was reasonable and they provided us with food and drinks it was over at around 11:30 so that left us with time to eat and shop we took a taxi to eat and the taxi driver was nice and always waited for us so I cant complain. On the island though you can find some good bargains cheap but they keep talking you down on the items. On the cruise I found that the shops didnt have all that great of deals the 20 dollar watch sale was a joke. The pictures were also a rip off 20 dollars for 1 8x10. On the day to come home I am so glad we were in line by 8:00 to get off b/c Some of our people didnt get off the ship until 11:00 If you have to catch a plane I recommend you to get in line by atleast 7:30.We left our luggage out the night before and Had no trouble finding it I also recommend for you to leave your luggage out so you do not have to tug it through security and all.
