We booked this cruise because we had always wanted to see Bermuda and found a last-minute deal for a cheap interior cabin. The Breakaway is a very large ship and can feel quite crowded when one is endlessly circling the sundeck looking for an available lounge chair. However, we felt the cruise was a good value for what we paid.

Embarkation is very easy, with the cruise ship terminal right off the west side highway in Manhattan, not out in NJ. We enjoyed the onboard entertainment - Rock of Ages was cheesy but fun, and the Second City performers were funny when they were actually doing improv and not the scripted bits (which I assume NCL had to sign off on, sapping them of most of the creativity). We found the complimentary dining to be adequate, even though there were relatively few vegetarian options on the menu. We didn't go on any of the cruise line-sanctioned excursions when we were in Bermuda because public buses and ferries there are very easy to use, if sometimes crowded when multiple megaships are in port (avoid the #7 bus if possible, and take the #8 or a ferry to Hamilton instead).

The main downside of this cruise was that service was not as good as on other lines we've previously been on - housekeeping missed our cabin a couple of times, neglected to change toilet paper roll and take out trash, etc. It was a minor nuisance, but not enough to seriously detract from our enjoyment of the trip. 4/5 overall!
