My husband and I took this cruise to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. This was the first time we have cruised with Norwegian. Let me first say the cruise was good and we had a great time. We are not big drinkers so we were looking for great food and good excursions. We got a deal when we booked the cruise that we could get 4 of the specialty dining rooms for free. I was happy about that, because I think we would have been disappointed if we hadn't gone to the specialty restaurants. The food in the dining room was good, just not extra special. The buffet was always the same and very crowded.

We had wonderful weather! There were a couple of days we didn't have to wear a jacket. Being from Florida we weren't sure what to expect. Like the reviews say, pack layers so you can take them off as needed. I wore long sleeve shirts under sweatshirts and took a jacket.

I read a lot of reviews prior to going on this trip on how Norwegian nickel and dimes you. I found this to be true, but never felt pressured in any way. For example, every other cruise we have been on had a night in the dining room where they serve lobster. With Norwegian, you could have lobster in the dining room every night, for an additional charge of $24.95 per person. Before each show they sell lottery and raffle tickets. You can order anything you want from room service, but there will be a $7.95 charge. If you don't like it, don't get it.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

The cabin was what we expected. It wasn't any bigger than other cruise cabins we have had in the past. It did have a lot of storage room, which was great. Shelves, cubbies, and a real big closet. Stored 3 big suitcases under the bed with no problem. We never heard our neighbors unless we were out on the balcony. Not a lot of plugs, so I would recommend adapters or extension cords.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

No excursions were offered. Norwegian did pick up 4 rangers as we entered the park and they were on board answering questions and giving us information. The boat got really close to a glacier and spent a lot of time there so everyone could see it. On the way out we saw a lot of wildlife. Seals popping up and playing all around out boat!
