This was our third cruise on NCL and our seventh overall. We are both early 50's. I think this was our best cruise ever. Everything was really nice. Flew in to Vancouver the morning of the cruise and had an NCL bus transfer to the boat. Check in is always somewhat chaotic with some long lines. But the Vancouver folks had this running pretty smoothly. Still took over an hour but it was not bad. We did not have any time for touring in Vancouver. Maybe next time.

Got on the ship around 12:30 and our rooms were ready and luggage was already delivered. We had a Deck 10 balcony room. It was very nice and very clean. The shower is a little tight. But no issues with hot water and lots of water pressure which are important to me.

We prepaid for a 3-night specialty dining package at the optional restaurants. This did save us some money. But the bigger issue is reservations. Make reservations as soon as you get on the boat. Reservation desk was on Deck 5 with all the other information desks. The Japenese Tepanyaki restaurant has limited seating availability and by the time we got to the desk there was nothing left on any night except 9:30 which is a little late for us.

Balcony

Cabin BD

Standard balcony cabin on Deck 10. Bathroom was a little tight but they always are. We had a large bed and a couch sitting area. There is TV and movies to watch if you like. Definitely recommend a balcony for an Alaska cruise. We saw several whales from our balcony. Other than the last day/night into Seward there is always good scenery on both sides of ship.
