PROS: The Majesty of the Seas was a nice little ship. RCCL did a good job refurbishing the ship. It was in great condition. Certainly not as magnificent as the Freedom or as elegant as the Serenade, but it was fine. The rooms were like other reviewers have stated the smallest of all the ships we had traveled but that is why we booked two adjoining oceanview staterooms. Our wait staff at the Moonlight dining room, especially Richard table 039, were superb. Our cabin steward, named Stewart, was adequate. He always had a smile on his face. My 14 year old son had a blast. Plenty of activities for teens. He played a lot of basketball and hung in the teen area called Fuel.

Cons: BAGS LOST= They lost one of our bags and didn't retrieve it until 6 hours after our return to our home. (We live near Miami and had dropped the bags with a porter on the dock at the ship. Not a hard thing to coordinate you would think.) The bag had all of my husbands clothes, minus a small duffel of shorts and swim trunks and all of my sons dress attire. It also had the chargers for our walkie talkie which are vital for our communication and allow my kids to have independence. Losing bags seems to be a common occurrence on the Majesty and we were not alone. We actually met several other people in the same circumstance. I believe the problem is in the process. They take every bag and stack them up in the common areas near the elevators. Everyone just grabs their bags. Very disorganized and people take the wrong bags, keep them and don't return them. Needless to say, it ruined a good part of our trip. We didn't dress up in the evenings and my husband was obsess with this lost bag. I have to admit that it becomes maddening not to have your stuff. You try super hard not to let it bother you. Customer service was polite, but was incapable of doing what it took to get our bag. Very frustrating to know that you have a bag on the ship in a cabin and no one really cares. You get the strong feeling that this happens on every cruise and they are immune to your plight. In the end, they gave us some onboard credit, but it just didn't make up for it.

PRE-TEENS: Not so much for this age. They have activities galore for the little ones at Adventure Ocean. Most pre-teens don't want to be 'signed into' a program like a baby. This age has a hard time finding and making friends and the programs on the Majesty fall short of bridging the situation. To be completely fair, I also believe that many parents are hesitant to give the same freedom they would an older teen than this age. There needs to be a program developed AND PROMOTED WELL for pre-teen kids. I saw hoards of pre-teens who were stuck by their parents side. It would have been nice for both kids and parents if they had something for them. There is a schedule, but it is not promoted in a way that encourages anyone to participate. No one shows.

Cabin Review

Tiny outside oceanview. View is unobstructed. Bathroom small. Shower only. Nice water pressure and very hot. Comfy bed, soft linens. Small desk that we used to hold luggage. Small closets with a safe. Boday bar soap and push button body wash only. No shampoo or conditioner. Small blow dryer. Only two electrical outlets. We had two rooms for a family of 4 and it was needed.
