This was our first time on the Carnival Spirit and cruising as a family (travelling with my husband and 2 year old son). 5 years ago my husband and I did a fantastic cruise around the Greek islands, so we had high hopes. The Carnival Spirit did exceed some of our exceptions but some elements were a bit disappointing. All in all, it was a very good value family holiday.

We took a Carnival transfer from the airport, this was fantastic, the service was friendly and they could not do enough to help us. Our bags were fully taken care of, the staff put them on the bus and then we saw them again in our cabin. Most importantly it entitles you to VIP queue for embarkation, so we bypassed all lines (this was a god send with an over tired toddler!).

The ship is easy to navigate and very clean. The mid section of the ship, which was recently refurbished, is lovely however the rest of the ship is bit tired. We spent most of our time on level 9 and 10. My son loved the pools and splash zone.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony Obstructed View

Our cabin was clean but a bit dated and cramped with the addition of a cot. Our bed was very comforable. The balcony was a god send, since our son had to nap in the day time and goes to bed early, we were able to sit on the balcony and enjoy some downtime. The bathroom is small but functional, lots of space for toiletries. Plenty of cupboard space and coat hangers.
