This was our 1st cruise (family of 4) and overall it was very "pleasant". I loved the cleanliness everywhere (staterooms, common area, dining rooms, public restrooms). I especially liked the hospitality of the entire crew -the housekeeping and kitchen/dining room staff worked tirelessly!
I did not like that Carnival 'nickled and dimed' passengers for everything. Our cruise was well over $5000 and we couldn't get free Wifi and the TV service was spotty! We could have gone to an all-inclusive hotel and gotten WiFi and internet access.
Also, there was lots of food but the quality of the food was NOT very good -except for Guys Burger Joint, which had delicious burgers but stayed open for only 4/5 hours. The pizza was HORRIBLE. I love pizza but could not eat what they were trying to pass off as pizza. After 7:30 pm, it was hard to find food, except for icecream and some horrible choices from room service. PLZ HIRE REAL COOKS!
took a taxi to the downtown area called Lacaya -it was ok. Not much to see; just alot of tourist shops; which doesn't really give you a feel for the island, locals, customs, etc.
embarkation here -not much to see :)
