We chose this cruise because of its itinerary and the timing was perfect for our vacation plans to Norwegian Fjords. The fjords are beautiful and HAL offered a nice array of excursions that would be difficult to arrange yourself. Service on the boat was excellent food was mostly excellent as well. Lido deck for breakfast was a disaster most of the common areas on the boat were overcrowded and the smoking policy was very deceptive making our veranda useless to us for the entire two-week cruise. We were disappointed in the drink package we purchased because the wines that were available for our the package were of poor to mediocre quality.

This is a new ship and we had numerous little problems throughout the cruise like her TV went out for a pool of days and some of the food venues had issues with their equipment but all in all it was nice to be on a brand-new boat. We did notice that the ceilings throughout the boat we're kind of love and the chairs in the common areas very short legs we found a somewhat uncomfortable.

Our cabin was a little bit on the small side compared to other veranda cabins we been in because out veranda was unusable most of the time. HAL smoking policy is smoking is allowed in designated areas and when you get on the boat you find out that the verandas are one of the designated areas and you only find that out when you smell the beautiful fumes of secondhand smoke up from other verandas. When we got on our boat you watch the video it didn't mention anything about veranda smoking we complained and we're told quite authoritatively that you can smoke on the verandas on this boat and we were told that we should've done her homework before buying the ticket however they don't provide that information anywhere on their website.
