We took this cruise mainly because it was going to the port of Bermuda. When we arrived to get on the ship, there was a lengthy delay. We were told the Splendor had gotten in later than expected. But everyone waited, very patiently, and all got safely aboard before she sailed.
We were surprised to find out that our cabin would only be cleaned either in the morning or in the evening, but not both. After 25 cruises, on various cruise lines, including Carnival. That was a first.
All the crew worked very hard and were very friendly, but as has been the trend, they are responsible to clean more rooms and serve more tables.
We chose the Port of Miami because when we returned from our cruise we wanted to spend some time in Miami's Little Havana area and Miami's South Beach area to see the revitalized Art Deco buildings.
We visited the local area, just off of the ship as we had taken excursions before at Grand Turk and this time we wanted to chill out on the beach.
The previous tours we took on Grand Turk were all very good.
Very nice port area, either to stay in the area and relax or to take a tour into the nearby cities of the Dominican Republic.
