Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly and quickly. My husband and I found the ship to be very confusing. We chose Anytime Dining which was in the Lincoln Dining Room and it was like a maze getting to it. Our cabin was adequate for an interior. Food was fair, not much flavour overall except for the desserts, which were good. We enjoyed the comedy shows a lot but the rest of the entertainment was not great. There was a younger crowd on board and a lot of loud music and people partying. We are in our 60's and found that this was not a relaxing cruise. This was our second time on a Carnival ship as I decided to give Carnival a second chance but it will be our last because both times we were disappointed. I will say the staff/service was very good. Very friendly and helpful. Ports were very nice. Enjoyed the tour around San Juan, Puerto Rico and the beach and Margueritaville at Turks. Amber Cove, DR had a pool and bar not far from the ship that the passengers could use which we enjoyed. We took a shuttle bus to downtown St. Thomas where we found a lot of nice shops. Overall, I would rate the cruise as poor-fair and we do not plan on traveling with Carnival again. If we do cruise again, we will be trying one of the other cruise lines that may be more suited to the older population!

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Spent the day at the pool near the port. Had a great day!

Grand Turk

Spent the day at the beach and enjoyed a great lunch at Marguaritaville!! Water was beautiful. Lots of beach loungers to use for free. My favourite port of call.
