My family and I just returned from our Alaskan cruise on the Explorer Of The Seas. This was the 1st time and probably the last on this particular ship. My family and I cruise's quite often so this was not our 1st time cruising. We had a great time in Alaska however this cruise itinerary only has 3 stops. The itinerary needs to be revamped you spend more days at sea than actual ports of call. The food on this ship is terrible, not just the menu selection, but all of the food is very bland and tasteless. The main dining room as well as the Windjammer and the Promenade Cafe. Out of and 7 night cruise my family and I ended up paying extra to dine at the specialty restaurants for 5 nights. In all of our years cruising we have never eaten at any specialty restaurants on any ships. The 2 nights we ate dinner at the main dinning room the food was absolutely horrendous. On 2 diff nights my kids ordered steaks cooked medium and both times they were cooked well done. The steaks looked very stale and old. The chicken was always overcooked and very dry. We filed several complaints with the the Maitre D and the staff members, however there answer was it's because the food is cooked in large batches so it's quite difficult to get it right. The food at the Windjammer is also the same if not sometimes it's worst. We were a party of 15 people and in order for us to get a decent meal on this ship we ended up having to pay to have dinner 5 nights at the specialty restaurants. The food and the service at the specialty restaurants was amazing. It's like night and day from the main dinning room and the Windjammer. It's absolutely outrageous considering the amount of money this cruise costs, that we had to pay extra for 15 people to eat for 5 nights. We were never reimbursed in any way for the extra money we had to come out of pocket to pay for dinner for 5 nights.

The entertainment on this ship is also terrible. Again on and 7 night cruise they had 1 adult comedy show, nothing after that. The casino is very small not a lot of tables, and only a lot of penny slots. The Hi speed Internet sucks do not waste your money it's def not what they advertised it to be. 3 people in our party paid for it and never got service, it's super slow and doesn't connect.

Of all my years in cruising we have never once had and issue with the food on the ships. I think RCCL is starting to nickel and dime there customers to death, and they are def not providing what is advertised. They are forcing you to pay extra at there specialty restaurants. They def need to start stepping up to the plate and start taking better care of there clients.
