We joined the cruise in Vancouver having spend 3 nights there before departure.
Being the first cruise we had ever been on we was disappointed at the length of time we had to queue to complete the check in, which in total was over 2 hours. This could easily be speeded up by giving guests a check in slot. This was a painfully slow start to the cruise.
We had chosen celebrity select dining and on the first night we had to queue to be seated for dinner. Thereafter we booked a table for specific times but on several nights still had to queue to be seated. Breakfast at a shared table took almost an hour to complete. We tries the cafe on the 10th deck after this but it was often difficult to find somewhere to sit.
Stanley park is an excellent day out the Eastern corner providing most of the attractions.
The markets on Granville Island are also worth a trip especially for food fans.
The waterfront and gastown provide a nice contrast.
If the weather is good a trip to Grouse mountain is a must.
We found it nice just to walk around and talk to local people, lots of bald eagles here, remember to take your binoculars.
Great place to do some souvenir shopping and enjoy some seafood or fish.
Some great souvenir shops and some very interesting shop owners who are happy to talk to you about their lives.
