We are in the mid sixties and cruise about 3-4 times a year and more recently for 14 day cruises. The difficult time can be embarking and disembarking, so we like the idea of settling down for 2 weeks. The embarking in FLL was very fast. We arrived at the port about 1 PM and we were on the ship about 10 minutes after arrival. The inside cabin, forward, Baja deck was small but adequate. The layout was different with the closet off the main aisle, but easy to get accustomed to. The room had a safe and a refrigerator which we defrosted. We had the anytime dining that worked swell even though we appeared at about 6:15 PM for "share 2" - sat at a table for 6- 8 and met many pleasant people as The staff on the whole ship was pleasant. The food was as good as RCCL and Celebrity. The 9 islands were great. We chose to take 2-3 hours tours on our own for about $20/person in an air conditioned 10 - 14 passenger bus. The exception was St Thomas where it is fixed at $25 for the typical open truck, lasting more than 3 hours. We were always back on ship at least 3 hours before departure. It was easy to get off and on the ship at each port. I do not recall dining with anyone who had not been on a Princess ship before. The line has strong loyalty. During the cruise there was hardly anyone at the Purser's desk which, to me, is an indication that there are not many complaints. The entertainment was great. Due to a high draw to certain shows, some were held on a second night. The Vista lounge was also used. Most people arrived 30 minutes or so before a show, but we took our chances arriving 5-10 minutes before the show and once we did not get a seat in the Princess Theater. Below are a few very very minor items that are not meant to discourage anyone. We missed the daily newspaper that we had on other ships. Yes there was HLN and International CNN that gave some news, but it was limited. There is the free ice cream at 3:30, but other than that during the day, you pay for it except in the major restaurants. The Captain's party is held in the 3 level Atrium, where everyone has to stand. This was a problem for some, and could have been a big problem if the ship was rocking and rolling. The disembarking was not so good. It is the silent process where you assemble at a preset time in a particular area. We departed about on time, but then there were about 500 people in the baggage area with a 200' line to go though customs. We have no desire to be on a larger ship such as the coming Oasis of the Seas with more than double this capacity. You cannot view your account on your TV, but you can get a written statement at the Purser's desk - don't wait until the last day! That being said, it had excellent value for the money and I am about to book another Princess cruise in a few minutes!!!! Bob
